I wrote a really short story this morning while I was enjoying a 20 minute break between classes :D
In the meadow, bathed in the sun’s hot breath, stood a thing void of color. The joints holding its mouth together creaked with mobility as its arms swung loosely over the flowers. There was a feeling like exhaustion as its outline brushed the petals. But the pollen rubbed off and clung to its paws, painting them yellow, and the being had finally decided…
"I am here," it spoke. "I am pollinated."
It’s hands were not flowers. Though this creature had grown among plants, it had never taken their form. Insects would not even touch it. There was no motivation to sustain the self with the senses until this very moment, which was an awakening closest to a first kiss with reality.
It crouched, shading itself among the tall stems of the flowers. Down here, the sky was a glowing sea of white petals. A pill bug scampered by on the dirt, unfrightened. The Pollinated One was a giant even when crouched in this tiny world. The soil was warm. The newly awakened lifted its head high over the flowers once more and quietly lived through the next moment, and the next, and the next.
Are you going to be driving a lot in the coming week?
Are you going to be lonely for the holidays?
You should download/cuddle up with my first Black Licorice album, April Crowe and the Impending Amnesia.
It has everything but rap and country. You’ll love it. It is your favorite band’s favorite band. And it is FREE.
